so cool! Now I can really do something with all those apples!

I just moved into a house this year and was delighted to have some apple trees. Unfortunately, they haven't been pruned for a long time, and while there are tons of apples (enough to break branches off a tree - so heavy!), they're all pretty small. I wouldn't do anything with these apples if I had to make them by hand. We had a blast. My 3 and 2 year old boys helped pick apples and tossed them into my little power alligator and after seeing me crank a dozen apples they were excited to try and my 3- year found out and did it. couple alone. Just a caveat, don't expect your 3 year old to be able to do this, mine is almost 4 and quite mechanical by nature. Apples are fun, they come out bouncing, curvy, tight and the kids ate at least three apples just because they looked so funny. We've made a lot of homemade applesauce and I freeze a lot of pre-made mixed apple pie fillings to take with our family :) Next year I'll definitely be buying an autoclave because I can crank these apples all day!
