I think $10+ is too much for a metal stick pierced by a plastic bullet, especially since the broken stick it replaces was only ten years old. Yes, the old one did not bend, but broke in two. The manhole ruptured when my wife was pulling the Wookiees out of the sewer. What kind of cheap chrome brittleness breaks rather than bends? Maybe it fired too slowly? Well, in any case, this replacement bar fits perfectly. I installed it in less than 5 minutes and now my sink plug works like new. My only annoyance is that this stem alone costs about the same as the entire assembly with lever, drain, etc.
