Where's the shine?

I bought this not only because of the writing on the mouse pad, but also because of the design - SHINE! There is no shine! This is just a picture of what the glitter will look like. I need to find a metallic or shiny marker to decorate this mouse pad. This is a little disappointing as the sheen drew me to the piece. The color is actually purple, not rose gold in the picture.
