I gave this lens 3 stars because after some training it allows you to see some very fine detail up close that you can't see with your bare face would eye. I use it for forensics and when I travel around the country I always look for something very compact and light. Well, this lens is so small and light that you are more likely to lose, drop or step on it unless you are VERY careful. It doesn't stick well to your iPhone and has fallen off many times when trying to use it. The little cheap flexible plastic rings they give you as props for the right distance from your viewer's plane keep falling off and are so cheap you'll lose them too. The best part of this lens "system" is the app you use on your iPhone. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max with 3 lenses on the back of the phone. You need to choose the right lens to wear this. The app does all the basic work as the lens does nothing other than being a macro lens that allows you to focus very close. The increase occurs through the application. There is no depth of field, so you have to move the lens closer and further from the subject to see objects that are more than 1mm deep. Not that useful but for looking at numismatic coins or for kids to learn about nature it can work if you are in control. You will lose this lens in the grass, so be very careful outdoors. Very expensive for what you get.
