Review on Suspenz HD Airless Cart Yellow by Christopher Cortez

Suspenz HD Airless Cart does not fit Old Town Sportsman 120

The Suspenz HD Airless Cart is well made, lightweight and easy to assemble. It rolls easily up the ramp to the water even though the cart is loaded with an Old Town Sportsman 120. The kayak is new and I have yet to fully kit out the kayak, I'll put it off until I figure out what accessories are best for the way I fish. So a kayak can weigh about 120 pounds. I've only used this cart once on level pavement, so I can't comment on how the 10" wheels do on rough ground. The straps with quick release buckles are easy to use and are very suitable for attaching the kayak to the cart. I gave this kayak cart 5 stars even though the cart does not fit my Old Town Sportsman 120. Due to DoubleU's hull design, which keeps the kayak stable when standing on the deck of this fishing kayak, the carriage is too narrow, making it difficult to reach DoubleU's structure in the middle of the bottom of the kayak. As a result, one or the other contact point slides into a U-shape and tilts the kayak. It will take me some time to align the kayak on the cart so that it is in contact with the flat outer hull. I've found that if I move the cart further back on the kayak where the kayak is narrower, the cart fits snugly. The problem is that when you lift the front of the kayak you are carrying more weight because the carriage is further back. I like the kayak closer to the center of the kayak, near the seat to balance the weight and then it's light, easy to move and manoeuvre. It's a little more effort, a little more time, but I prefer more weight. I already have a mod to solve this problem. Suspenz has a cart that I think would be a better fit, the All-Terrain Super Duty AIRLESS Cart. For an additional $30 I could go that route and skip the modification I would make to the suspense cart I ordered. The AT SD Airless Cart was intended to carry the Old Town Sportsman with the DoubleU hull design. Seems to be a perfect match. Anyway if my mod doesn't work I will give my Suspenz HD Airless wagon to my grandson and buy a Suspenz All-Terrain Super Duty AIRLESS wagon. It feels bigger, taller, and folded larger than the Suspenz HD Airless Cart I bought, so I made my choice. It looks like it will take up too much space in the kayak when I take it with me. In the end I would buy another suspension without hesitation, the quality is top notch, great workmanship, the straps look premium. The buckle works well but I have some reservations about the metal. I might not call it a star. Let's see what will happen later, time will tell. Overall, I think this car will be with me for years to come.
