Review on Rioddas External Portable Rewriter Superdrive by Mike Kimball

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for money CD/DVD drive

I recently needed an external CD/DVD drive because my gaming PC doesn't have a drive bay for an internal drive. The Rioddas drive matches at a great price. I've tested it with both CD and DVD and it reads both perfectly. The drive also recorded multiple CD-Rs with no problem. It also works great on Mac including my MacBook Pro. Windows 10 does not natively support DVD movie playback. So, to watch DVDs with this drive, you need to download and install a third-party application like VLC. itself has a faux metal top and curved, shiny sides. It connects via a single USB 3.0 cable that provides power and data transfer. When not in use, the cord tucks away neatly in a groove on the underside of the disc. One of the downsides is that the first drive I received was defective; It was intermittent (lost connection) and only connected when I pressed the drive tray. I requested a return from Revain and they sent me a replacement CD free of charge, no question asked. I've had this replacement drive for a few weeks now and it's working great with no issues. All in all, this is a great CD/DVD drive for those who want to use optical media with modern computers.
