I enjoyed it, especially considering that this is my very first Blu-ray drive:) Various advantages: It works flawlessly to read any disc, but I haven't tried to write on it yet. The plastic is of a very excellent quality, and the tray can be pulled out with very little noise. The amount of noise produced while operation is very low. The next assembly will take place in 2022. Its cons: The reading head makes a lot of noise when it functions (crunches and rattles), but perhaps this is intended…

I recommend to buy, the product is of high quality.

reads and writes without difficulty. Though I'd prefer to remain quieter, the rules are generally accepted. When reading at night, it can buzz very loudly on the apartment's floor. I approached the color of my case and both cases from the standpoint of cosmetic benefits. 20 25 GB apiece BD-RE Verbatim discs were recorded. DVD-RW and DVD-R reads and writes flawlessly. ImgBurn 2.5.8.0, a burning program.

Pros
  • At the time of purchase, the firmware was the most recent. most CDs can be read and written. An OEM option exists.
Cons
  • The tray rumbles and the drive is really noisy. in two cases, tried. One is screw-fastened, whereas the other is not. airplane rumbling and vibrations at six times the speed. Only burning Blu-Ray discs at 1x speed is comfortable.

I didnt expect the quality to be so high.

Purchased primarily for the purpose of storing permanent records on BDs. He seems to be doing fine with it. A top-tier Blu-ray player drive.

Pros
  • CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, and Multi-Disc Players 2.An adequate and rapid rate of disc recording. 3.An error-free and perfectly functional recording system. Very little noise.
Cons
  • One, it's really pricey.

On the whole, the delays were not noticeable as I viewed the photographs that were played back from a recorded disc on a computer. Some pros: I recorded two BD-Rs with no issues that I could find. I will progressively move all of the gathered photographs and papers onto Blu-Ray discs. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit includes an automatic driver installation feature. Ashampoo Burning Studio will be used for the recording of the Blu-ray disc. The operation of the drive does not produce any audible…

Terrible purchase, only wasted money.

To replace an outdated, comparable ASUS BW-12B1ST drive, this one was bought. Comparing it to the previous model reveals that the tray dangles and slips out loudly, unlike in the previous model. Not backlash, it dangles. But while this would be tolerable, the fact that he wrecked three Blu-ray discs is simply intolerable. After recording for ten minutes, it displays a frame with the text "error device" and a lengthy list of numbers. I had to reinstall the old drive, and everything worked well…

Pros
  • Beautiful front panel. indicated in blue.
Cons
  • After recording for ten minutes on a Blu-ray disc, the tray opens with a roar, dangles, issues an error message, and that's it—the disc is tossed away.

Fits the description completely, very satisfying.

You grab it with both hands and wave it about. The computer was opened, the program was installed, and it began to work. When placing your order, make sure the SATA cable is included. If you do not already possess it, you should place an order for it concurrently with the purchase of this gadget. I decided to use this device instead of the previous one, which had a USB connection but was no longer recognized because it was an ASUS product. I made several backup copies of the videos and recorded

Pros
  • It is able to read and write CDs, DVDs, and BDs. clever & solid.
Cons
  • I did not see any negatives

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Satisfactory product quality, good price.

Able to read and write without any difficulties. In theory, I'm fine with the norms, but I could stand to maintain a lower volume. It is possible for the buzzing to be rather loud on the floor of the apartment at night, which can make reading difficult. I started with the aesthetic benefits and worked my way up to the color of my case and both cases. Recorded 20 BD - RE Verbatim discs, 25 GB each. DVD-RW and DVD-R are both capable of reading and writing without any issues. Burning software…

Pros
  • At the time of purchase, the firmware was the most recent version. Reads and writes to the majority of disc formats. There is also an OEM choice available.
Cons
  • The drive is extremely noisy, and the tray makes a rumbling sound. Considered in two separate circumstances. One is held in place by a screw, whereas the other does not. When traveling at six times the normal speed, aircraft rumble and vibrate. When burning Blu-Ray discs, the only speed at which you should feel comfortable is 1x.

Many people today believe that CD-ROM is no longer a vital component of a PC. However, it is still needed for work (the transfer of electronic versions is frequently stipulated in contracts) and I have an old automobile with a 6-disc CD changer but no USB. There are also a ton of old family and work archives. My wife used to have a CD on the computer, but recently it became apparent that the tray needed to start living its own life. I soon discovered that CDs are still popular with us. This…

Pros
  • - All standards can be read and written on, excluding the legendary HD DVD. - There are no issues with reading or writing; there is a steady, low-volume hum all the time.
Cons
  • There are no significant flaws, but I would like to point out the following: - the body (not the front part) differs from what is in the picture; - the price of $5,000 for an actually obsolete device is a bit high; - the tray does not retract automatically; for the less expensive ASUS DRW-24D5MT/BLK/B/AS model, it closes after a few minutes of inactivity. - is unable to operate the fabled HD DVD (I have never seen one, but they claim they exist)))

I am amazed at how well made the product is, just magical!

I took the ASUS BW-16D1HT Black drive mainly for burning Blu-ray discs. Adjusts the speed. Although it could be higher). It's frustrating that already 3 50GB disks have screwed up (and they are not cheap). I assume that the fault is in the quality of the disks. But there are hints on the drive. My rating is 4+. And in general, the conclusion: we definitely take it ! Solid quality item.

Pros
  • compact, conventional drive only blu-ray, suitable for all types of Windows, firewood included (installed by themselves even without a disc), writes Blu-ray discs at speeds up to 12x, a little quieter than a standard DVD drive.
Cons
  • jams disks with a capacity of 50 GB and above, the reason is unknown. everything else GUD. maybe it's not the drive. Then there are no cons.

I definitely recommend buying, I didnt notice any disadvantages.

A few days after buying this drive, I bought two packs of VS BD-R 4x discs and decided, for the sake of experiment, to write two VST instruments onto one disc, which are large in size (about 14 and 8 GB) and earlier I had nowhere to put them. The disk turned out to be a little more than 21 GB, it was recorded at the 4th speed in 21 minutes. After recording, I decided to test and copy the data back from the disk to the computer . and there was a little disappointment. On small files, the copy…

Pros
  • Good quality drive.
Cons
  • Everything is written to disks quickly, but after recording, the speed of reading small files and copying them to a computer is extremely low. But this, I think, is not a disadvantage of the drive, but rather of the format)))

But so far no problems.

I have an old Pioneer BDR-205 that burns BR-R D/L discs at 10x, but the same media on this drive only records at 8x. It's a faster drive by any measure, but it's slower. Maybe it's just a media quirk of course, but it's kind of unconvincing given that the old technology is faster. My version comes with FW 3.00, you can surely upgrade to 3.02 if you use this drive for UHD. DO NOT UPDATE FW 3.03+ or you will not be able to use this disc for UHD.

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • Nothing

4k Friendly - with some effort.

disc *copies* 4k content (as seen here), but thanks to manufacturer and dumb content laws; law-abiding owners feel like criminals. This drive came to me via Revain with firmware version 3.3 making it impossible for ***ANY*** 4k content. A rollback to 3.2 fixes this bug, but it's not a task for the faint of heart. A quick search will show you how to "roll back" the firmware to previous versions. Apart from this shortcoming, the Asus drive is in no way inferior in terms of quality and price; very

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Hard to tell

It reads UltraHD 4K discs by firmware

My disc was made in September 2020. Purchased January 2021, firmware 3.10. Out of the box, it doesn't recognize any UltraHD drives. Fortunately, this can be fixed by flashing it with a modified firmware. Google Ultimate UHD Drive Flashing Guide Updated 2021 and follow the simple instructions. Took me 2 minutes to fix it and now it can read UltraHD. I'm taking a star off the rating because honest people feel like criminals if they don't want to pay twice as much for an UltraHD compatible disc.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • A bunch of multipliers

Pros: Fast device capable of reading 3-layer BDXL discs found in 4K UHD movies*** (see minuses) The black bezel perfectly matches the external USB enclosure from Vantec. Cons: Asus is in the shadows and locks down the firmware so you can't downgrade. You need to flash your device to a previous version using another tool if you want to use it to read UHD discs if your device was loaded with firmware v3.03. I'm giving this one star because devices released earlier this year had no issues with it.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Blu-ray Burners: Blu-ray Drives

This Blu-ray burner drive works great. It reads all discs up to the latest 3-layer and 4-layer high capacity Blu-ray discs for 4K Blu-ray. All you need to play discs on this drive is the free Leawo Blu Ray Player software. If you don't like subtitles and want to have accessible menus, I would advise you to buy Cyberlink PowerDVD 16. These two programs are the best free Blu-ray player software and the best paid Blu-ray player software. Source: toptenreview.com. I would use Star Burn free disc…

Pros
  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Can I add something?

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Yes, it will read Bluray UHD. but

This is a popular drive as it is known to support UHD. I bought a couple of these for this purpose and had to flash the firmware to make them Blu-ray UHD capable again. If you're late to the game, the manufacturers of all these UHD-friendly drives have started releasing firmware to spin the drive when UHD media is detected. So you'll need to downgrade the firmware to make it work with UHD drives if you recently bought this drive. . Whatever you do, make sure you know what you're doing before…

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Stock availability

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Cheap device, expensive price. bottom line? Unreliable.

I'm on disc 4 now. I bought ASUS because yes, the old firmware could read 4k media files. With a large collection and realizing that the data density makes them even more fragile than Blu-ray media, I wanted to back up my legally commercially available 4k movies after some of them became unreadable from the slightest scratch. Well, ASUS makes it harder with each firmware version. But I digress. The real reason for this review is that I am currently using version 4 of this disc. I seem to be…

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • No automatic

Update January 2020: Downgrading to the lowest possible rating of 1 star due to persistently poor DVD access performance. Blu-rays still work very well BUT I've used more DVDs than Blu-rays. More than half of DVD playback attempts result in a "disc read error" that can be fixed with few, if any, repetitions. Put this DVD in either of my two old drives (I have 3 drives on my main PC) and it works the first time every time. There is something bad about this ASUS DVD drive that has not changed…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Exorbitant price
