Beyond praise! The product definitely deserves your attention.

Many people today believe that CD-ROM is no longer a vital component of a PC. However, it is still needed for work (the transfer of electronic versions is frequently stipulated in contracts) and I have an old automobile with a 6-disc CD changer but no USB. There are also a ton of old family and work archives. My wife used to have a CD on the computer, but recently it became apparent that the tray needed to start living its own life. I soon discovered that CDs are still popular with us. This model for me, my wife ASUS DRW-24D5MT / BLK / B / AS, which, according on the evaluations, reads antiquated disks from the 1990s)) was purchased by the two of us.

Pros
  • - All standards can be read and written on, excluding the legendary HD DVD. - There are no issues with reading or writing; there is a steady, low-volume hum all the time.
Cons
  • There are no significant flaws, but I would like to point out the following: - the body (not the front part) differs from what is in the picture; - the price of $5,000 for an actually obsolete device is a bit high; - the tray does not retract automatically; for the less expensive ASUS DRW-24D5MT/BLK/B/AS model, it closes after a few minutes of inactivity. - is unable to operate the fabled HD DVD (I have never seen one, but they claim they exist)))
