4k Friendly - with some effort.
disc *copies* 4k content (as seen here), but thanks to manufacturer and dumb content laws; law-abiding owners feel like criminals. This drive came to me via Revain with firmware version 3.3 making it impossible for ***ANY*** 4k content. A rollback to 3.2 fixes this bug, but it's not a task for the faint of heart. A quick search will show you how to "roll back" the firmware to previous versions. Apart from this shortcoming, the Asus drive is in no way inferior in terms of quality and price; very good!
