Review on 🔥 ASUS BW-16D1HT - High-Speed 16X Blu-ray Burner with M-DISC Support, in Sleek Black by Justin Vasquez

Update January 2020: Downgrading to the lowest possible rating of 1 star due to persistently poor DVD access performance. Blu-rays still work very well BUT I've used more DVDs than Blu-rays. More than half of DVD playback attempts result in a "disc read error" that can be fixed with few, if any, repetitions. Put this DVD in either of my two old drives (I have 3 drives on my main PC) and it works the first time every time. There is something bad about this ASUS DVD drive that has not changed even after a firmware update. NOT RECOMMENDED as many other drives exist. Update July 2019: I'm fed up with the DVD reading errors. New discs with no scratches still get random read errors and I have to put them in another DVD drive on my PC. EVERYONE I've had to do this for has read other discs well. The ASUS drive had no issues with Blu-ray discs, but it's maybe 1/4 of my collection, so this drive bugs me all the time. I would recommend a different brand if you need a BD and DVD drive. ===== Update December 2018: Received summer discount after ASUS switched to a new processing company. Still an average rating as I keep getting DVD read errors from this drive. NEVER had a problem with Blu-ray, but inconsistent DVD reading is annoying. I would not buy this drive again nor would I recommend it. ===== Blu-ray drive has average performance - it had problems reading discs, my other, older drive reads fine. The real problem is that ASUS is not honoring its discount offers. I applied in March 2018 and my discount was approved ("4-6 weeks to process and send the discount”). I waited until June 2018 to call and the real person apologized and promised to take care of the issue and I "should get a discount in 10-14 business days". It is now August 2018 and ASUS has done nothing but ignore my additional email sent in July 2018. If your purchase is based on price after discount then please reconsider.
