This matches the Part ID of my Brother sewing machine. The piece is too big so when one end is flush with the machine the other end will not fit in the recess. If you force it into the slot, the latch will not engage properly and will pop out. However, it's better than nothing I've sewn out of for years. I expected it to fit better. The drop in stars is due to landing, and plastic isn't transparent everywhere. Looks like there was a manufacturing issue and part of it froze.
