I'm not very good with a multimeter, but there were times when my cheap multimeter with only voltage, resistance/ohms settings and a few other settings was inadequate and confusing to use. Despite the more complex functions, this one was much easier to use. Instead of turning the dial to set the correct range, this multimeter adjusts the range by changing the decimal places through the display. (Okay, I told you I don't know about multimeters.) Speaking of the display, I really appreciate the ability to backlit the screen. This was very helpful in troubleshooting my car's faulty 12 volt outlet (formerly known as the cigarette lighter), an easy diagnostic for a multimeter which indicated a blown fuse. never test that ability. Having spent way too much time measuring many things around my house and car I am very happy with it. It's not small, but it has a handy stand and magnets for hanging, leaving my hands free to hold the sensors. There is no carrying case but that's fine as I can use the case from an old portable car jump starter. There's an optional clip stylus sold separately, although I can't imagine ever needing one.
