I had to clear a clogged sink drain - liquid products didn't work. I chose this one because it was Revain's choice and had good ratings and reviews. And I couldn't be happier. It literally took less than two minutes to clear the drain. A guide including some tips on how to use it properly is included and was very helpful. The supplier even sent an email with additional instructions. However, there is a caveat. The power for the device comes from your spinning the drum, which causes the snake to rotate to rotate the bit and clear the blockage. There is a plastic handle that you can use to stabilize and guide the snake. This causes the neck of the drum to rotate. The instructions state that you need to apply some pressure to the snake from time to time so that it can get around the elbows and burrow properly into the blockage. While this doesn't require a lot of pressure, you do need to be careful not to apply this pressure through the stabilizing handle, but rather by applying pressure to the drum. When you attach it with a handle, the handle slides down the neck of the drum and begins to grip the screw, locking the snake and making it impossible for the snake to spin. If you push too hard, the handle could break. Otherwise, the device really does its job!
