I've been using the same GHD straightener for 10 years and have never had to replace it or send it in for repair. Eventually it died. After so many years of use there was no doubt I would order another one. I have never hesitated to spend $150 on a personal iron because I knew the quality. To my surprise, it's not the same! My daughter is type 4, my old single pass iron left her hair smooth, shiny and bouncy, this new straightener takes me multiple passes and her natural curl started springing back within 20 minutes. After reading about the iron I found out that the original manufacturers don't make GHD anymore, they have created another brand. I found other users had the same situation. I've been there for 8-10 years, bought another one and it's not the same. I'm so disappointed I can only cry.
