Review on Gaggia Velasca Prestige Stainless Steel Espresso Machine by Ross Decoteau

Doesn't work and wastes beans

Having loved our Titanium Gaggia for over 6 years we were very happy to upgrade to a super car. After a long search we bought the Anima Prestige, but sent it back after about a month. While the frother was great, we kept getting errors about missing beans, resulting in many spoiled drinks, frustration, and tons of wasted beans. The machine chopped up a batch of beans, then dumped them into a dredge box and rinsed them in a freshwater beaker. We decided to bring back the Anima and switch to the Velasca Prestige as the family had recently bought it and had been successful. Immediately we started getting bean bugs on Valasca. We've had several calls to customer service and have completed the tedious and wasteful task of "training our Velaschi algorithm". (You can expect the $900 machine to be pre-programmed to make a cup of coffee). We've had a bit of success for a while, but if you change the strength of the scent, you're back to square one. It's not uncommon when trying to make 1 espresso drink to experience 4-6 errors with no beans. We had to double our Lavazza subscription because of the wasted coffee. When we received the two new machines we realized they didn't feel as durable as Titan, but were happy to ignore that as they promised exciting new features. . Now, after two failed cars, I can't help but suspect that the quality of this brand isn't what it used to be. Hope to return this as we currently use our $30 French press while the $900 machine collects dust and takes up counter space.
