We purchased this item to fly our three cats from California to Ohio, a trip that took three days. All three cats were in the carrier an average of 13 hours a day and coped very well with space and comfort. There was enough space in the carrier for one cat to run while the others slept, and all could sleep if necessary. The transport space was a great advantage, we were afraid of cats being confused with each other, but with this product? Absolutely not, there is enough space. My only two complaints were that the trunk roof started to sag after day one, which is likely due to us throwing a light blanket over the trunk grille. Secondly, you cannot carry or carry cats in a container in a hotel room. The floor is too thin which means you have to find an alternative way to get your cat out of the carrier and into the building. Because of this I think the carrier is best for short distances, the stress of moving cats between hotel rooms and the carrier was too much.
