I was wondering why there were so many less than great reviews. Now I know. My version of this product did not come with instructions or a software CD. From the online submission I assumed that some people had success with just the power cable, some needed the addition of a "data" cable, and some people just didn't like the product. Count me among the latter. I received a fleeting message that my USB2 port did not have enough power to control the device. After that I didn't get anything. Well, I thought, maybe if I plugged the power cord into the USB3 port (which supplies more power than the USB2 port), the drive would spin up. It's not like this. The box that the device came in is definitely NOT marked as containing anything other than a USB2 compatible device. I figured the two included USB2 cables together could provide enough bandwidth to handle the needs of a Blu-ray drive. I can't test this theory because I can't get the device to do anything! I have the only $60 brick in the world!
