Review of Krups XP5240

Sold as an accessory for Krups XP5240. I bought this to see if it would improve the quality of the coffee and filter the water better, but it has the disadvantage of having to constantly put the machine in steam/stop mode (see the XP5240 manual) in order to to help pump water through the filter. I have to do this EVERY TIME I make coffee, otherwise the water slowly leaks out and the result is "burnt" coffee (due to overheating the water). Installation is easy, just screw the filter onto the coffee maker. water tank. The numbers above the filter serve as a reminder to replace the filter (set the month manually). When using the machine for the first time, it is important to use the steam/stop function 2-3 times to allow the filter to fill with water, otherwise water will not come out of the machine. To use the vape/stop function: turn the lever to the vape position, wait for the light to stop flashing, return the lever to the stop position. This causes the machine to pump water into the filter Discussion: I don't know if I should recommend this accessory due to the extra work involved in making espresso. Not sure if the coffee taste has really improved since I use another coffee shop. A mixture that I used to use. I don't think so and I can stop using them. ################### ########## ############## ####### ## PS: This is a continuation of my original review from January 7th, 2015: the My problem doesn't seem to be related to the filter. Sounds like the problem is with the water pump. What I said earlier about pouring water slowly may not apply to you. Coincidentally, this happened exactly when I changed the cup holder and put in the water filter.
