I bought these because I wanted battery operated candles to be thinner than standard sticks for wall candle holders and other places. I wanted them to be attractive but not glow and not just look like a fake pillar of wax. In these aspects, they are beautiful in daylight as an accent. My hateful relationships mainly involve the use of CR2032 lithium batteries. I didn't expect the batteries that come with the candles to last long, but I did expect the brand's replacement batteries with the timer function to have a reasonable lifespan. Unfortunately, battery drain becomes very noticeable after less than two weeks, especially in the two tallest racks. They don't light up as well as the smaller ones to begin with, so when the battery runs out they barely light up after 10-12 days. Add to this the care required when disposing of a lithium chemistry based battery. While a fully discharged battery poses little risk, you still need to be careful when disposing of multi-battery coins as they can hold some charge and make sure they don't touch each other in the trash. Our DEQ staff also recommends special disposal for these button batteries. I wish they would make this design using AA alkaline batteries. By using three AAs I get a lot more life out of my less attractive flameless candles and worry less about disposal.
