POS Stay away good for electrics

Bought to prepare for Nest Hello smart doorbell. For this I bought a stronger transformer (16V, 30W). The setup was fine, but the hole you put all the wires through is too small. It's not the same as sticking a toothpick in an airplane hanger. The wires are taut. I have two call buttons. One for the front and one for the back. The back is one color and the front is two-tone. Ding vs Ding Dong. It works as long as you mount this thing horizontally, not vertically. However. never mind Both front and back work. Fast forward a few days and I get my doorbell. It is very easy to install on the nest. A problem. The rear button works, but the front button (with socket) does not. It just doesn't ring. I've tried a combination of things that I won't go into here, but it didn't work. I ended up buying a Hampton Bay 16-tone electronic doorbell ($35) and it worked right away. Moral of the story: don't buy this if you're going to plug in a smart doorbell. It's just not worth the effort. It's soft and almost inaudible. Also, it doesn't work with smart doorbells. At least not with Nest. Spend an extra $20 and buy an electronic device that lets you adjust the volume and ringtones. Oh, and I didn't return the doorbell. I took it to the backyard, fired my .45 and threw it away. Pos. I don't even want an amazon dealing with this shit. Hooray.
