In fairness, this mat is and does what it says it is and does. The size is spot on, it is thick, and it handles heat well. It it also huge, which is nice because you can always cut it down.Out of the box, there’s a pretty substantial chemical smell. Washing it and letting it air out helps with that, but I never love that smell when I’m using the product near food.I wish the surface was a bit more matte or textured or just rougher in some way. As it stands, it is a bit sticky and attracts dust and dirt that is hard to get rid of without washing. This mat is huge, so I wish it wiped better and I wouldn’t have to wash as often.If you plan on using it under an appliance…then it’s perfect. If it’s a "working” mat, I think there might be better options that are more user friendly. But…at the end of the day, it works fine.
