Works reliably, very useful with old fridges

My fridge is over 20 years old and was starting to show signs of age: the freezer compartment didn't seem so cold at times and the salad got into the freezer The vegetable compartment burned , This means that something is clearly not working. At first I bought basic LCD thermometers, but to read the temperature I had to open the doors, which wasn't very convenient. AA batteries) and display unit (operated by 3 AAA batteries). Batteries are not included. The probes have a non-removable clip that can also be used as a stand; and they come with a rubber strap and suction cup (which didn't work at all in the freezer). I stuck one probe in the freezer and the other in the middle of the fridge. The display unit is equipped with powerful magnets so it attaches neatly to the fridge door in the most convenient spot for you. The temperature reading stabilized after a few minutes. You can set minimum and maximum alarms, view temperature in C or F, and there's even a display backlight. That's how I found out that my freezer has strong mood swings (between -25 and -10C) but my fridge doesn't. t things are much better (between -5 and 5C). After some googling I found that this is a common problem with older fridges and can easily be fixed by replacing the thermostat, an inexpensive and easy fix. After a few days my fridge is running like new and I don't have to spend a fortune on a new one. The thermometer stays on because it's a really important part of food safety. Recommended, great product!
