I have an old Dell Optiplex with Windows 10 Pro and it works very well with all my 2.0 flash drives but this is different. The title says it's "2.0 Flash Drive" but a little further down in the "About This Item" section it says "USB 3.0 Host Device Compatible" and the box also says it is 3.0 is so I can get the computer to recognize it every time. 15-20 missions. All my 2.0s were recognized immediately. I'm not sure if that was the problem, but even if 3.0 should work by inserting it so many times before it's recognized, that's not good news. It doesn't need to be formatted to be recognized and I've never tried writing to it. It may have just been a defective product, but it was also very difficult to open and close. I voted 2 stars because it didn't work for me and I returned it and bought Kingston 2.0 so let's see how it works.
