🔌 PNY Retract USB 2.0 Flash Drive, 32GB, Gray - Color May Vary (P-FD32GRTCG-GE) Review

I ordered 2 packs of 32GB. My computer didn't recognize any of them. In my original review, I included an image of the Windows message I get when I plug it in, but Revain downvoted my review for some reason. Definitely; and interestingly both are dead when they arrive. They look very nice but they don't work. So send it back for a refund.

I use this flash drive for documents and some photos, it works well. Documents are saved quickly, photos are downloaded quickly. And 16GB lasts a long time. I like that it can be retracted so you can protect the USB port. The strap can be fastened at the end of one side so you can hang it around your neck for safe storage. It is worth noting that this flashlight is really small, which is convenient. But at the same time, losing it is not easy.

I didn't buy it because of the speed. I knew they were slow. I bought it for the nice THICK heavy plastic body and silky smooth action. The cap doesn't completely cover the bottom of the USB port so it's not as static, but I've never had a problem with it. The construction is second to none. That's why I love her. Yes, and they're not exactly incredibly slow or even annoyingly slow. Just a little slower than you would expect from a fast modern USB drive.

I forgot I left it in my shopping cart and my wife checked it in her order. It's not really necessary, but I ended up using it to install Windows 10. It did everything I wanted, and to be honest, even though I already had an 8GB USB drive, it was pretty old, and over $5 was a good deal.

Bought 3 units of 32GB. Windows recognized 32GB of free space and was able to write an 8GB file, but I found the write speed to be very slow. When formatted for use on a Linux system only 4GB was available, it was switched back to Windows and reformatted with NTFS and couldn't get more than 4GB. All three devices behave exactly the same. I think they use some kind of hard drive to "mask" 32GB of storage and use high compression software on the data. I wouldn't recommend it, waste of time trying

I have an old Dell Optiplex with Windows 10 Pro and it works very well with all my 2.0 flash drives but this is different. The title says it's "2.0 Flash Drive" but a little further down in the "About This Item" section it says "USB 3.0 Host Device Compatible" and the box also says it is 3.0 is so I can get the computer to recognize it every time. 15-20 missions. All my 2.0s were recognized immediately. I'm not sure if that was the problem, but even if 3.0 should work by inserting it so many…

Does not contain the full 32,000,000,000 bytes as stated in the product description and packaging. It actually contains less than 31,000,000,000 bytes.

I only use it to play MP3s on my car radio so this drive is fast enough. The only downside is that it doesn't lock in the "out" position. So if you hold onto the protective case when trying to insert the drive into the USB port, the drive will slip back a little when it's firmly seated. This results in the device being unable to read the disc. However, if you hold the back of the disc when you insert it, it will slide in all the way and the device will have no problem reading it.

I bought these to be compatible with my new case I bought when I first booted to install Windows 10. The sticks themselves have a small spot to attach to a keychain which is nice Feature the USB 2.0 plug tucks away when not in use which is nice too. The speed is quite low compared to what I've experienced with other similar ones. However, 1 star less for the slower speed, but overall it's a pretty good buy if you don't mind slightly longer wait times.
