I bought two of these 4 foot locks in 2014 and use them when I need to leave my bikes in a bike rack when traveling; especially a night in a hotel when I can't bring the bikes inside. These locks are too big, stiff, bulky and not flexible enough to keep on my bike for everyday use. For transport you need a backpack, a pannier bag or a scout belt attached to the upper body. I throw them in the trunk of my car when needed and use them to hold bikes together on the road. I end up using these locks along with a 14mm chain and 18mm shackle to keep most people from stealing my bikes. Very nice castle; but I wouldn't make that my only point of failure. I would still use this lock plus 1-2 others (u-shackle, chain, bluetooth/cellular tracking device, etc.) for backup and layered security.
