I really liked this lock but I had it in once.

I really liked this lock but once I got my hands on it it feels a bit light especially for a full size bike. I see this as a great addition to a city scooter or road bike as it seems reliable, but on a larger bike I'm not 100% sure it's capable of holding it securely.

Heavy Duty Heavy Duty Lock

Before I start reviewing this product please note that if you live in a high crime area this will NOT stop a criminal from stealing your bike. This, like any other, is more of a diversionary tactic. Other than that it's a very strong lock, dust cover for the keyhole, comes with 5 keys which I was able to insert or unlock with no problems. The protective case will still scratch the paint a bit, so be careful. It's also a lot bigger than I expected, it's not a product you can wrap around a…

Exactly What I Needed - Accessories

Great Product. I live in a city with a high crime rate and needed the right lock for my moped. The Rottweiler really helps. It feels very strong and is just long enough to attach a rear tire to a railing or just a tire to a frame so nobody can try to ride away with it. It's pretty portable; not that hard. I usually just roll it up and put it on the steering wheel. One thing I've gotten used to and really love now is that the lock won't let you take the key without being 100% locked. If it…

Easy to use and very reliable

I bought two of these 4 foot locks in 2014 and use them when I need to leave my bikes in a bike rack when traveling; especially a night in a hotel when I can't bring the bikes inside. These locks are too big, stiff, bulky and not flexible enough to keep on my bike for everyday use. For transport you need a backpack, a pannier bag or a scout belt attached to the upper body. I throw them in the trunk of my car when needed and use them to hold bikes together on the road. I end up using these locks

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Some little things

I like it but the only problem is that it's shorter than the original OnGuard cable lock I bought years ago that ended up breaking. I use this cable to secure my Yamaha scooter but it is barely long enough to secure through the hoop and around the bar. Several times I had to get off and push the scooter closer to the pole. It's 4 feet long, which sounds like a long time, but if you stick it through the rear wheel, you'll pull it out past the rear fender. That's all. ----------------------…

Very strong cable lock, but important parts rust.

OnGuard 1" x 48" Cable Lock This item is advertised as 25mm (0.984252") as well as 30mm (1.1811"). Neither the one nor the other is true. The diameter of the vinyl sleeve is actually 0.961 inches, or just under 1 inch. The cable itself is slightly smaller but cannot be measured as the vinyl is translucent. It's 49 inches long, weighs 4 pounds, and the vinyl-coated steel cable is durable. The tamper evident locking head rotates easily for easy locking. The set contains five brass keys. To lock…
