Absolutely great for collages

This paper is very interesting for use in art journals and collages. For those unfamiliar, the paper I received came in three different textures: smooth, medium-weight paper in various colors; there were rough, highly absorbent, and translucent thin papers; and there were uneven papers of varying thickness. The translucent ones are my favorites as many of them have built in materials that make them interesting and beautiful. I didn't count but I probably received around 15-20 different papers in total. Most of them had repeats or small stacks, but some were unique. Some had patterns printed on them, and others were completely solid with no patterns. Most of the papers were about 3 inches by 3 inches, but they weren't all the same. These are junk and leftovers, so the next pack I buy (and I will definitely buy more) will likely be very different. There are a few things you should know about mulberry paper itself before buying it. It is not made from wood pulp as we know it in the west. This is handmade paper made from one of several types of material, but with different consistencies. When you cut it, you get a crisp, clean cut; but when torn, it spits out feathers in a very interesting way. Pasting with a brush also blends the edges. It absorbs much better than regular paper and I think most if not all were unsized. It dries fairly quickly and is a lot stronger than it might seem. I read that it used to be used for fabrics, although it's not woven. It's very, very good for watercolor or ink, although probably only for a brush as a regular pen doesn't work well with textures. A final note for scrapbookers, art journalists, and collagers: I think the best thing about this paper is that it doesn't curl at all when I glue it on. It lies flat, right where I put it. This makes it a favorite for me as I have had so many problems with curling and puckering other papers.
