This is normal. Bought these to give to my son to check the remaining life of the brake pads. It's still hard to see where to see an Eve brake pad with these on most cars, so I'd say they're of limited use. I'm very used to just looking at worn brake pads, so a tool like this is another thing to have on hand. If you haven't checked your brake pads yet, that might be okay, but I think it will be harder for you to know where to check first...they didn't help, for example, the Jeep Wrangler JK rear brake on mine son to check . Pads because those sensors can't be put there... best thing was to go under the car and look through the hole in the caliper.
