One of my best buys

This item may have been my favorite purchase of 2011. It allowed me to reduce four monitors to one. I waited a while to see if this thing held up and lo and behold it still works. The problem with any multiport switch is that if a port burns out, you're screwed. The supplied cables appear to be of good quality. I also hooked mine up to a surge protector with battery backup to try and protect against power surges and blackouts. Even if he dies this year, I'll be inclined to get another one. I use my computers primarily for work, so I can't comment on video game effects or multimedia. I suspected the switching speed was affected by things like antivirus software and screensavers, but that's speculation and I suspected a slight degradation in switching speed when I replaced my Samsung monitor with a Dell monitor, but it all outperforms the four monitors on yours Table. There is a way to program the Ctrl key to switch ports when you press it twice, which I did, but I can't remember why. There was a conflict with a program. I was disappointed to find that after upgrading a computer to Windows 8 I could switch to it, but after the computer was idle for a while the mouse froze and I had to unplug the USB connector and replace it to run Windows to use 8 to recognize it. Others have also noticed this problem. If you search the internet you will see reports that the drivers are corrupted but they are not. I think the Windows 8 mouse driver is doing something weird that is messing things up. I ended up temporarily uninstalling Windows 8.
