I bought this press after spending too much time comparing garlic presses on the internet and I have to say I am just disappointed compared to the previous garlic press I had was. Firstly, I'm used to the press moving about 95% of the garlic through the soil and leaving say only 5% in the "bin", however this doesn't push the garlic through the holes in the bin as much. somehow just flatten the floor like a pancake! My guess is that maybe 60% of the garlic clove goes through the holes while the rest just snaps on the underside of the metal piece that contains it. The sides aren't soldered together, so there are small gaps on the back of the unit where garlic gets stuck and is almost impossible to "easily" peel. The bottom line is that it's a joke compared to my previous garlic press! Having used it for a little over a month and encouraging friends and family to try it at home, we wouldn't recommend it to anyone considering a new garlic press for their kitchen. In my personal opinion, do yourself a favor and get the one that IKEA sells.
