Protects your delicate fabrics

I had never used a silk press cloth but decided it would be a smart purchase when making my daughter's wedding gown. It was an extremely smart purchase. Durable and definitely protects delicate fabrics. I'm sure I avoided major trouble by using it. And when I made a last minute decision to underline the lace sleeves with silk organza - while temporarily living in the middle of nowhere, an hour away from the nearest fabric store - I decided to use the presscloth as the underlining. I washed it…

Pros
  • It is perfect, thickness was great, although I didn’t first think it was!
Cons
  • Not what I expected, it is just a sheer piece of material that I could have purchased much cheaper!

Dritz Sheer Press Cloth, 22 by 30-Inch .

This press cloth has I am very pleas worked exceedingly well. Since it is quite sheer i was concerned that it would get to hot and possibly scorch the material underneath which included ribbon and other fabrics not conducive to direct ironing. The sheer fabric was no problem, in fact it helped me to focus on what was being pressed. I am very pleased with this product. It was the right size for the projects I needed to press.

Pros
  • Just as I have used in the past
Cons
  • Might not leave a perfect finish on clothes

Holds up to high heat AND you can see through it!

No more accidentally setting *IN* a wrinkle instead of ironing it out. Why haven't I ever heard about this before? Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • Works well, very sheer fabric
Cons
  • May not be environmentally friendly

Sewists need this pressing cloth

As a beginning sewist I thought I could use any cloth for pressing while I'm sewing. This is high quality silk organza and I use it all the time now that I have it. I store it right next to the iron and cannot imagine sewing without it.

Pros
  • This was just what I wanted. It was just as advertised.
Cons
  • Limited quantity (only comes in a 2-pack

"Impressed " good for me

I had never heard of silk organza for pressing until I took a sewing fabric class. It really makes a difference. No shine on your fabric!

Pros
  • Great item you can see through the material to insure you don't get a wrinkle ironed in.
Cons
  • May require a significant amount of space to use effectively

Perfect press cloth

The Vue thru is hard to find these days. Most of the ones you purchase in stores now won’t allow you to see what’s going on underneath.

Pros
  • It was a wonder while ironing my nieces hem on her wedding gown! Great purchase and great quality!
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all irons

Love the extra large size

Love the extra large size. The only thing someone may not like is that the edges are not stitched and hemmed so fraying occurs. I’ve purchased the mesh netting type of pressing cloths and they have burned before —not often, but they have. So far this one is good to go.

Pros
  • I like it
Cons
  • Can only be used for pressing and not for any other household tasks

Stiff and unyielding

These cloths are as stiff as can be. They work OK, but if they are folded for storage, they have to be ironed each time you take them out to use them because they retain the fold lines. I was hoping for a nice soft cloth that was easy to see through. Also, I would not call these exactly "vue-thru" if this means that you can see through them. You can't see through these any more than any other white cloth. Maybe a little bit, but it's a stretch. I think I'll just cut up some muslin and use that…

Pros
  • Love the fact I can see where I'm ironing, makes a difference.
Cons
  • May not be reusable for a long time

I've melted enough of those white plastic pressing screen "cloths" to know they can ruin your clothes and gunk up your iron terribly. When researching what people used to use before manufacturers started selling garbage, I learned those are actually a poor imitation of good old-fashioned silk organza, a very sheer fabric (like window sheers) that can tolerate higher temperatures. This cloth is fairly large, so I often use it doubled over because it's so big and the iron still shoots…

Pros
  • very helpful
Cons
  • Price may be too high for some customers

Unravels at edges - my new review

Initially I was very happy with it. But after a month it started leaving long blonde strands on my dark suit jackets. I am back to using the plastic ironing sheets.

Pros
  • Works great! Complaints
Cons
  • it's not that good
