I bought it to do some online courses. I quickly realized that you can't install most programs, can't run Quickbooks, need internet access for everything, and Google logs all my data. 2 months later I bought a decent laptop with SSD and Windows so I can run Quickbooks, Office and whatever else I want to tinker with in the future. As far as Chromebooks go, it's good/great value for money. Just make sure you really need a Chromebook before you buy one. Chromebooks are very different from standard laptops. You cannot legally use this when offline. You can't take notes, you can't read or write text documents, you can't watch videos when you're not online. Maybe school administrators in the US don't mind selling data on their district's kids, but I don't think Chromebooks should become the standard for taxpayer-funded education.
