The rear view camera easily attaches to the license plate with the top two screws provided. Power is connected to one of the reversing lights. Thus, the camera is only powered when the vehicle is reversing. The transmitter is attached to the trunk lid with double-sided tape, which is included in the scope of delivery. It is hidden behind the felt trunk lining and can transmit through it. The monitor is attached to the dashboard with double-sided tape. I connected the power wires to the wires that powered one of the 12 volt adapters. This is a switched outlet that is off when the car is off and on when the ignition is on. The receiver is built into the monitor and uses a small antenna that extends and angles from the back of the monitor. The monitor can also be powered by simply plugging a 12V plug into a 12V outlet or wiring it with a splice connector. .Operation: When the car is started, the monitor will turn on and display the startup screen. If the car is not turned on in reverse, the monitor will not receive a signal from the camera after a few seconds and then turn off. So you drive with the monitor switched off. When the vehicle reverses, the monitor turns on and displays the rear view. The viewing angle can be adjusted. I adjusted mine so that the car's rear bumper was visible. This way I can see the distance to other cars/walls.
