Confused by some of these other reviews. The strap is fully adjustable. You simply pull the strap through the buckle one way or the other. That's easy. Also, they intentionally have a fun fruity smell, but the shoes are "green," meaning non-toxic. We love these for our toddler because the soles are a bit flexible so they are good for climbing and balance. You can also throw them in the wash if you take out the removable insole. My only issue is that they are a bit small, so I would definitely recommend getting at least a half size for toddlers' fast growing feet.
