Review on Moog K7090 Strut Rod Bushing by Corey Greene

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Improved design? Hardly. Look Elsewhere

Reportedly new and improved design. It consists of a front wheel hub with a built-in metal disc that keeps the strut bar centered. The rear hub is flat with a thick plastic washer that fits between the frame mount and the hub. The rear hub cannot help center the strut bar. The rearmost washer needs to be flipped against all common sense according to the instructions and the position and orientation stamped on the washers in case you don't believe them. After 7 years and less than 10,000 miles they were wrecked and off center. The rack bar rested on the frame bracket. I believe that inverted shim allowed it to go off center under reverse braking and it stayed there until I changed the bushings today. Instead, use the Raybestos Professional, ACdelco or Energy 5.7103 suspension. If the photo shows additional plastic discs and claims an improved design, run away.

Pros
  • Engineered to meet or exceed OE requirements
Cons
  • Some minor things
