That's normal for the price.
I bought these for the cap and lanyard complete as I lost my original cap. Anyway, it does what the original cap does, ie it stays on the lens when the lens is not in use. The second problem I have is that the cap is difficult to put on the lens. The locking mechanism is completely different from the original lid, so it's not that simple. The sticky part of the tip that sticks to the cap will peel off over time. However, the sticky part is easy to fix with the best glue.
