Review on 🚗 Enhance Your Scion xA & xB 2004-06 with the Rostra 250-1755 Complete Cruise Control Kit by Matt White

This rating reflects the opinion of many others. We have two 2006 xBs so I did it twice. If any of them had an automatic transmission, I'd be done in 3-4 hours (counting the time to get behind the wheel). The only problems in this case would be (a) lame documentation and (b) figuring out where to connect the power supply - connecting to an electrical panel as documented is far more trouble than it's worth. (I connected the power line to the cigarette lighter. Remove the center console cover and it's easy to reach.) But if you're fitting this to an xB manual transmission, the clutch switch is guaranteed to give you fits. I can't figure out why the clutch switch is so long. There are many micro switches on the market. Here's what I recommend: 1. Remove the driver's seat. The extra effort is definitely worth it.2. Break the wires from the clutch switch when it arrives. You can do it now or while trying to install the switch as directed, but you will.3. Strip a portion of the wire you just cut and crimp the quick connectors on each wire.4. Find a pair of wires (light-colored speaker wire works great) and cut a 2-3 inch piece. Solder one end of the single pair wire to the clutch switch (where you snapped the wires).6. Crimp the mating parts of the quick connectors to the other end of the single pair cable, then secure it to the clutch switch body with a cable tie. A NOTICE. The switch is a dry contact and there is no need to worry about polarity. This is a simple pass-through switch.8. You should now be able to easily screw the clutch switch back into place as indicated. :-)9. Once you've attached the clutch switch, connect the quick disconnects and you're back to the original electrical configuration.10. At this point I checked the operation of the switch with a digital multimeter while depressing the clutch pedal. So once I figured out the documentation on where to get power and how to deal with the clutch switch, everything went smoothly. The only other issue was adjusting the free play in the throttle linkage. The device works as advertised and I am very happy to finally have cruise control in my xBs.
