I bought this camera from Revain about ten months ago. Despite the fact that so much time has passed, I still haven't mastered all the features of this camera. I confess that I consider myself a beginner. I got this camera as an upgrade to my Canon S2 IS, which offered many features over a typical compact digital camera, but not as many as I wanted. The D60 gives me the same creative freedom I once enjoyed with my old Canon T60 DSLR from the 1990s (I'm telling you, I was a beginner!). Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority after you become familiar with the controls. Shooting in any of these three modes can produce really great results. My only concern is the focus ring on the 18-55mm kit lens. This is too little. When I switched to manual focus, it was just weird having such a small area to capture. Maybe that's typical for autofocus lenses, I don't know. The only experience I've had with other DSLRs was that it didn't have autofocus. Last tip: turn off the automatic view! It's very frustrating to take a picture and then get ready to take another one and you're in view mode for a few seconds. Overall I am very happy with this camera and would definitely recommend it.
