We bought two of these a few months ago and have been using them in our bedroom ever since with some old school Edison style bulbs. These bulbs produce a pleasantly soft light. They work very well and my girlfriend loves how our room looks at night. Around the same time we remodeled our bedroom. Then my daughter saw them at a party before she went to college and decided she wanted one too. We bought a third one and she took it to college. She also loves hers because she can turn it down at night when she's studying and her roommate wants to sleep. I have had no problems with these lamps after owning them for several months. There is one thing to be aware of. These are sensory lights, so when something near them affects what they sit on. They can turn on without anyone touching them. (Honestly, this is true of every touch lamp I've ever used, so I don't see this as a downside.
