This is by no means a 'complete' guide! It gives you an overview, but you will never become independent with this book alone. There just isn't enough detail in any of the areas. For livestock you get about 2 pages, maybe 3, which doesn't provide enough information. If you're just interested in a few basic things, this might be an interesting read. But if you plan to "get through it," skip this book altogether. One of the BEST is Carla Emery's Encyclopedia of Country Living. You can now become almost 100% self-sufficient!
