I recently replaced my 10 year old fence charger with a new technology charger. Unfortunately the new fence charger is not compatible with the GFCI circuit I use in my yard. When the deer try to enter my yard, they touch the wire of the fence and a small, harmless charge gives them a mild shock. With the new fence charger it would appear as if a GFCI breaker was shorted to ground and the circuit was shut off. This isolating transformer is the ideal solution. I connected it to my protected GFCI circuit and then connected the charger to an isolation transformer. The fence charger is now working properly and the other devices on that circuit still have GFCI protection. It worked perfectly.
