Review on πŸ“ž Ooma Telo Air 2 VoIP Free Home Phone Service with Wireless and Bluetooth Connectivity: Affordable Internet-Based Landline Replacement with Unlimited Nationwide Calling & Low International Rates, Black by Alicia Thomas

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great potential, Middlin performance

I only use my home phone for spam calls and 911. Ooma seemed like a great candidate to replace my expensive cable company VOIP phone. First, it looks the same as the Ooma Telo but has built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. So don't be discouraged if you think Revane sent you the wrong box. I bought the Telo Air 2 so I would have the option to place the Ooma anywhere, wired or not. First I set it up for the wireless network. I followed the instructions, downloaded the app to install on my phone and within about 10 minutes Ooma was up and running with her phone number. I then asked Ooma to port my number. While waiting for the port, I redirected my old VOIP phone to an Ooma number. It took 3 days to get to the port. First call I received after resetting the port. After that I received one dropped call a day almost every day for two to three weeks. It was very frustrating. I haven't had a single missed call from my old VOIP phone. If it wasn't for that I would have given Ooma five stars. To be honest I haven't had a single dropped call in the last two or three weeks. I'm not sure what's going on but it seems hit or miss. In general, Ooma does what I want. I signed up for a premium service and my house has never been quieter. Very few spam calls get through their block. In general I am satisfied.

Pros
  • even old fashioned
Cons
