The ability to see how different configurations of products affect margins, revenue, etc. is very helpful in understanding what you are doing wrong or right with your pricing structure. I've learned that it's difficult to get accurate data from NLPP. Not all companies use this software well enough to provide reliable numbers. If companies have access to more robust systems like Salesforce or SAP (which we don't), then they can easily pull out their own sales information rather than relying on someone who doesn't know how to run calculations correctly. We're looking to improve our margin by optimizing our prices so we can make larger profit margins without sacrificing volume. This system gives us much better insight into where there might be opportunities for improvement.
