This is a rather smallish scale (4 ½” x 2 ½”) which is great for portability. The issue with the one I have is that the cover is actually touching the plastic weight plate. I gently pushed it down to see if it needed to be seated more but the lid still touches it. I marked the edge with a black sharpie and took a picture. To fix this, I had to glue a strand off of a wire tie so the lid wouldn’t touch the plate. I wanted something to contrast the black base just in case this tie strand falls off. I don’t want the cover to place unnecessary pressure on the plate when transporting the scale.PROS:• Scale is sensitive so be aware if using a fan in the room. Use some sort of air barrier if need be• Scale is accurate for the price• Ease of use• Portability• PriceCONS:• Cover touches scale plate• Scale plate is plasticAccuracy TestUsing an OHAUS weight set, I calibrated the NEWACALOX using the included 50g weight and compared it to the weight set.50g=50.012g, 30g=30.068g, 20g=20.005g, 10g=10.000g, 5g=5.000g, 3g=3.000g, 2g=2.000g, 1g=1.000g, 500mg=0.501mg, 300mg=0.300mg, 200mg=0.201mg, 100mg=0.0.99mg, 50mg=0.050mg, 30mg=0.029mg, 20mg=0.020mg, 10mg = did not detectDuring the 50mg thru 10mg tests, the weights had to be placed and moved several times for the scale to be able to detect and register a stable reading.Conclusion:This is an awesome scale for the price. If not for the protective cover flaw, I’d give it 5 stars.
