So far so good: heating, cooling and air quality

Update #2 The device worked perfectly up to the 19th day. I noticed that the stats didn't change in the application and started crawling. There was an E5 error in the block indicating a refrigerant leak. The subfloor was very dry and the musty smell was gone, so the dehumidifier and gasket worked well before this problem. I'm assuming it was shipping damage as I ordered a replacement. I'm downgrading to 4 stars for the inconvenience, but will monitor the performance of the replacement unit and possibly upgrade it to 5 stars if it continues to work. Another thing to watch out for. It's totally worth the extra $120 for the WiFi version if you put it in your basement or attic. You don't want to run it and constantly check that everything is working fine. Update: Alorair got my email back and fixed the email issue with in-app activation. I was able to use a different email address to sign up because my original email address showed that it was already in use. I was generally satisfied with the customer service. It took about 3 days to fix the issue but the unit is connected to WiFi and sucking moisture out of my bypass room. The walking area is approximately 1700 square feet and 99% humidity 3 days ago. I'm currently sitting at 67% with a partially encapsulated crawl space in Tennessee. I'm hoping to complete the vapor barrier in the next day or two and am very happy with the dehumidifier so far. Previous Rating: I can't get the app to send me an activation email to my Gmail or Office 365 accounts. I can't log in without them. I will update my 1 star rating when I can access the app.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for seniors
