Review on Mantiz MZ-03 Saturn Pro II EGPU - Thunderbolt 3 External GPU with SATA3 2.5 SSD/HDD, SD, USB 3.0, Gigabit LAN, Dual TB3 Chip - MacOS/Windows Compatible by Bobby Aghetoni

Nice eGPU with good features, Ethernet, lots of USB and SATA. Used as a docking station for Windows 10, Dell XPS 15 and Lenovo Yoga X1 laptops. GPU - RX580. The first experiences with Thunderbolt drivers in early 2018 were a bit bumpy. After 9 months it seemed to be working reliably. In recent months, the problems with eGPU detection have increased. The power supply died after 15 months. Surprising given that the RX580 and other components draw only 350W while the FSP PSU (the "budget" FSP550-50SGGBA) is rated at 550W. Check the reviews for other Venus PSU issues. A power supply design overview is available online by model number. The renamed FSP and FSP Retail power supplies are more advanced and have better power regulation. No significant dust was found inside and a short to ground on the power pin of the 20 pin connector indicates the power supply is not working, 3 months out of warranty. When contacted, Mantiz offered no help diagnosing the eGPU. Update: November 9th, 2019 PSU exchanged. The response of eGPU and system is much more reliable and faster. My guess is that a faulty PSU has been causing noisy power supplies and eGPU instability for the past 18 months.
