I love my new 2m YAESU 2980 R

Forests and over lakes. with my small 8 watt portable radio. In the summer he would have worked for me for about a month. I usually heard them, but there was a lot of interference on my side and I couldn't access the Internet. No matter how high I placed the Comet antenna, this old little handheld wouldn't work most of the year. So. I bought this YAESU 2980R 2M radio up to 80W. I set it to 30 watts and they hear me loud and clear. I am so happy to be able to connect to the network with this 2m radio. It has been loaded with frequencies and works like a charm. It has various save lists that you can customize. I haven't done it yet. The manual says that if you drive around town you can scan the local 2m frequencies and somehow most repeaters should make the list; does the radio hear noise? . And then hide that list until you drive through that town again in the future. So if you travel a lot you will have something to see. Now there are no 70 cm or other stripes on it, that's the only negative. But that's just my base station and I'm happy with this two meter radio.
