Review on πŸ”— Silver Stainless Steel Deployment Buckle Fastening by David Stewart

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice color match with Sedna Gold - great value

This is my first deployment clasp. I don't like leather watch straps and none of them fit me. (Wrist 21cm) I bought this clasp to try an idea before switching to a real Omega clasp. (50 times more expensive) This clasp makes the leather strap bearable. This extends the use of straps to the last hole, which the buckle cannot. This clasp appears to have been designed for a thicker strap. For my purposes it could be thinner. (My strap is 2mm) The 16mm width option fits the standard Omega FOiS strap. Surprisingly, the colors of the Rose Gold and Sedna Gold models are indistinguishable. The included 1.5mm spring bar is usable but will not fit the Omega strap. So buy a 2mm x 16mm spring bar if that's important to you. (or reuse the original) I don't blame the clasp, but prospective buyers should consider whether they intend to use the original strap's "loop" for excessive shaft length, or whether another would be required. I can sew mine to the end of the strap where the buckle was. Some purchase reviews complain about sharp edges. While I understand what they mean and the edges aren't smoothed out very well, this wasn't an issue for me and I had no complaints. Considering it was an experiment, it really couldn't have worked much better. The quality is better than expected for the price and the color is as advertised. As a result, I hate leather straps less now. If it's in leather, that's the deployment clasp for me now. I can even take a substitute.
