I selected this item as I needed one for an automotive fix that I will be attempting soon.Pros:- Relative Cheap compared to other hammers- Durable- Diamond pattern grip- Highly visible colorCons:- Sides of the hammer don't appear to be symmetric and level to each otherI got this hammer for an upcoming automotive project that requires a Dead Blow Hammer. I chose the 2 lb Dead Blow Hammer from YiYiTools. While I have never owned a Dead Blow Hammer I have used them. The one that I have had experience with was sand filled. This hammer has a cylinder in the head which is filled with steel shot.The idea behind this hammer is to be able to deliver a dead blow to the surface of whatever you are working on. This means that it should not bounce or recoil to be able to allow the striking force to be delivered in full.I tested this against my 2 lb rubber mallet. I used the approximately same blow on a concrete surface.The rubber mallet bounced each time about 4-5 inches from the impact point. The Dead Blow Hammer did as you would expect and delivered a blow without any bounce. This is great for precision work or needing to strike a surface with little room so you get as much energy on the strike as possible without marring, spark or ricochet.The hammer worked very well and I can see a number of uses for this hammer.The hammer does have a symmetrical issue however. Although it does not seem to affect its use at all.The sides of the hammer are not level to each other. You can even see it in the casting line when it was molded.The head itself does appear to be centered over the handle. It is very minor issue . however it is there.The hammer feels solid and secure in your hand and the diamond pattern grip wraps around the entire hammer as opposed to just the front and back as with my rubber mallet.All in all, I am extremely pleased with the hammer and it does what it claims.
