Definitely an improvement over the average when looking for a "lightweight grill". A comparable price gives me more bang for my buck with this device. The ability to focus the light into a narrow beam or a wider area of light depending on the environment makes it very attractive for grilling and illuminating food prep areas adjacent to grills. What attracted me was the resilience to weather and harsher conditions. I wish the magnet was a little stronger. Those with high quality stainless steel grilling surfaces may find the magnetic base unreliable. The fact that it can withstand a level of abuse fit for a work environment, rather than just sitting on the edge of my grill, is an added value that should last.
